My name is Pavlína Hrachovcová, I usually go under the name Paia. I am a 20-year-old student at Dundalk Institute of Technology studying Creative Media. I am passionte about art, digital design, web development and music.
This project is a result of on and a half years of work and art experiments. It consists of four sub-projects. The first one is called Kitsch: I painted three paintings of horses with different colours and properties and then ran a public opinion poll about people's perception of 'kitsch'. The second one is called Mental Sphere: I sketched these images into mz book when I was going through mental struggles and I decided to transform them into digital versions and share them with the world, making a big step in my healing journey. The third one is called Tobias: I essentially tried to create illustrations for my favourite book Tobias Lolness by Timothee de Fombeille, they were supposed to be light, dreamy and they capture my experience with the fictional world of Tobias. And the last project is called DnD: It was based on a Dungeons and Dragons game I played with mz friends at the time, I focused on imagination and my interpretation of the characters we created.
We were to create our original shoe design using various tools in Adobe Illustrator and then we would create a cover image for our shoes. I decided to go for a combination of lavender purple and shades of blue, while using funky colours to excentuate the background elements of the image.
